Eight channels of touring-grade Class D amplification with fully integrated 96kHz DSP — the Linea Research 48M20 is one of the most capable amplifiers in our hire inventory and the natural choice for large-format multi-way PA systems, complex festival stage builds and high-density touring rack configurations. Available for power amplifier hire across Northamptonshire, the East Midlands and the wider UK through Northants Event Solutions.
Delivering 8 × 2,500W at 4 ohms simultaneously across all eight independent channels, the 48M20 provides 20,000W total output in a single 2U chassis — dramatically reducing rack weight and cabling complexity on large productions compared to multiple two-channel amplifiers. Built on Linea Research's proprietary 5th generation Class D topology with multiple loop low feedback and feedforward error correction, the 48M20 shares the same advanced DSP feature set as the 44M20: 96kHz processing on all inputs and outputs, LIR linear phase crossover filters, the full VX Limiter suite (Peak, RMS, Excursion and multi-band), parametric EQ, per-channel delay for time alignment, user FIR filter upload, and 12 independent overlay layers for EQ, delay and gain across the entire system. Four analogue inputs and two AES3 inputs are standard, with optional Dante/AES67 digital network audio. Ethernet-based control and real-time monitoring via System Engineer PC application. Auto-ranging PSU accepts 85–240V for international touring use. Constant voltage output mode supports 25V, 70V and 100V line configurations. Commonly deployed as matched amplification for our Martin Audio and JBL cabinet hire packages. System Engineer DSP programming and Ethernet network setup available as part of our fully managed technical hire service.
