A large-format hyperbolic folded horn subwoofer from Martin Audio's Wavefront touring series — designed for maximum sub-bass efficiency, speed and impact in the most demanding live production environments. The Martin Audio WSXa is available for passive subwoofer hire across Northamptonshire, the East Midlands and the wider UK through Northants Event Solutions.
The WSXa houses a powerful 1,000W AES (4,000W peak) 18" (460mm) driver with a magnet structure and suspension specifically engineered for very large linear excursion, coupled to an internal 'S'-shaped folded horn over 2.1 metres in length. The hyperbolic folded horn design delivers efficiency typically 5dB greater than an equivalent ported direct radiator subwoofer — meaning significantly more output per watt, faster transient response and deeper, more controlled bass at high drive levels. Frequency response of 35Hz–150Hz (±3dB) with maximum SPL of 135dB continuous (141dB peak). Sensitivity of 105dB (1W @ 1m). Designed specifically for use with Martin Audio Wavefront Series loudspeakers — pairs naturally and cohesively with our Martin Audio VRS800 full-range cabinets for a complete Martin Audio touring rig. Mirror image stacking allows pairs to be deployed as a bass line source for larger outdoor events. Requires a dedicated amplifier channel with DSP low-pass filtering and limiting at 150Hz or below — pairs directly with our Linea Research 44M20 and 48M20 amplifier hire inventory, which carry Martin Audio Wavefront speaker presets.
