The FCS-966 is a dual-channel 30-band Constant Q graphic equaliser — the BSS Constant Q topology being the approach that set the standard for how professional graphic equalisers behave. Unlike conventional EQs where adjacent band adjustments interact unpredictably, Constant Q design maintains a consistent bandwidth regardless of how much boost or cut is applied, giving repeatable, predictable results in demanding live environments. Each channel provides 30 ISO centre-frequency bands with ±15dB of gain per band on 45mm long-throw faders with automatic centre detent bypass — filters only engage when a fader is moved off centre, keeping noise performance optimal when bands are unused. Separate LF and HF shelving contour filters allow broad tonal shaping without disturbing the detailed EQ settings. Sweepable high-pass filter up to 250Hz for loudspeaker protection and stage monitor applications. Relay bypass ensures signal is maintained even in the event of a power failure — critical for live events. Triple connectivity per channel (XLR, TRS jack and Phoenix/Combicon) makes integration straightforward in any rack configuration. 8-segment LED metering with clip indication at 3 internal points.
